4 Voyages
From the four seasons in a climate, the 4 stages of life, to the four voyages of Columbus, the journey and its' discoveries always outshine or ignore the realities of the actual experience. The romance of the seasons ignores the trials and tribulations of the year that brought them.
The story is always rewritten to urge us all to go, to get out there, and imply that those who don't are missing out. And while I've myself traveled the world, I didn't want to do that.
I wanted to capture the moments of arriving and the difficulties of leaving. Because in the end, all we ever had was each other, and it is in that moment of interaction, the coming and the going, where most of our experiences are truly shaped.
